New Blog Site

In an effort to push blogs out more frequently, we’re going to try a new blog format. It’s hosted by Blogspot, which means there’s a new URL and a new RSS feed, for those who follow that way. Liz is the editor-in-chief of that operation, and I will be a guest columnist.

You can view the new site through that link, or click on the Blogspot link in the menu bar above, to view the site from within this one.
I think our movies and media will still be pushed through this page, and I’ll occasionally add bits, so don’t throw away the link just yet. We’re going to sort of straddle both until we figure out what works best.
If you’re not using google reader to subscribe to your blog sites, like ours, you should. It provides you an easy way to view all of the blogs you’re interested in at once – with notifications about which have new entries. I’m happy to help anyone set it up: just send an email our way.
Also, Liz and I have given up our cell phone contracts. This means you can delete our numbers from your little black books. It’s actually nice freedom. Contact us for a home phone number. Your personal emails to us get wrapped in red ribbon and dropped on our door, so send many of those too.

Where on earth have we been?

Well, Jamison has been playing - no question about that. He enjoys inviting over his neighbor Bridgette for tea party and dinosaurs.
But we’ve been off of the spectra-scope for a few months. Last year took some very interesting turns, which kept us on our toes. We are ready now to bounce back and we’re very excited for Spring. Gardening, take two.
Walker has been working at Mobile Interactive Media since the start of this year. They are a startup company in Boise, developing web and mobile phone applications. Though still in the very fledging stages, development is starting to accelerate. And when not doing that, he’s home playing with Liz and Jamison.
Liz is busy chasing the one-year old, and sick with child.
Oh, we up and bought a piano. Liz just found one on Craigslist and we bought it that day. It’s a nice Baldwin studio upright. Jamison’s lessons start soon. We love playing.

Thank you Lizzy for the birthday ballroom dance lessons! (She signed us up for classes through April in the standard forms of ballroom.)
I always wanted to learn. I feel so uncomfortable anytime music plays and I’m expected to move. Funny, I didn’t have this problem during the first six years of my life.
After a few lessons I can say it’s brilliant, actually, and really fun. Thanks for being my dance partner!

Jamison joined the ranks of real people, as he put his first age check on the wall.
He moved too fast to really get a good picture, but he definitely loved all of his gifts - packaging an all.
Jamison wanted me to extend a special thanks to his grandmothers for both of their thoughtful and sizable contributions.

Christmas 2007

Jamison’s first Christmas was a ripping success, of course. His highlight was tearing apart the packaging - though he did get some really nice presents too. A boy couldn’t ask for anything more than a set of blocks, a race car set, and a bag of swedish fish to chew on (although technically the fish are for Daddy).
We received a unique gift from the Kramesch’s – an Austrian family whom Walker met on his mission and has kept in touch with, and who visited us last fall. Thanks! Their gift was a genuine Sacher Torte, perhaps the most famous cake in the world. It came padded and packaged in an elegant wooden box. The recipe is an original from the 1800’s. Hundreds of thousands of these cakes are so packaged and delivered throughout the world each year.
We found it absolutely delightful. Now Jamison, a food connoisseur of sorts, also gave it a swish. He begged us for more afterwards, but insisted on giving it a disapproving thumbs down upon first taste. We think he’s out to gain popularity by building a discriminating reputation.

We are big fans of Apple here, as they make it so fun for us to put our family on the web. Jamison is a special fan, and it was his idea to put this piece together to say thanks.

His sidekick, Mortimer

Here’s just a quick hello. These days are full of learning and doing new things daily. Among those things are waving, Javascript, and making Christmas stockings. You can judge who does which.
We do a fair bit of acting in our spare time. In the scene above, Walker plays Gridlock, a brilliant but narrow-minded scientist. Jamison comes in as Mortimer, the trusty and steady-natured sidekick. We were acquainting ourselves with the science of loud noises, in order to gain the sweet attentions of the beautiful and talented Miss Penelope (played by Liz), who brings us daily bread from the Bakery.
The job search continues. We’re excited for the holidays. And Boise had its first snowfall today. One of us literally needs two front teeth for Christmas.
